12: Riverwood Sorensen

My work is influenced by the subtle beauty of the changing seasons, the ruggedness of the landscape, and the quiet resilience of the people who call this place home.

In my drawings, I aim to capture the essence of these experiences through a combination of line, form, and texture. Whether I am working with pencil, ink, or charcoal, I strive to create images that are both deeply personal and universally relatable.

For me, creating art is a form of meditation, a way to connect with my surroundings. As I draw, I become more attuned to the world around me, noticing the small details that often go overlooked.

Through my art, I hope to share the beauty and complexity of the Midwest with others and to inspire a deeper appreciation for the place we call home.
